Email MariaMaria prior to starting Soeur Design was a trained teacher specialising in art and design. Passion in this field has given me a good background for Soeur. Maria has two children and lives on a 5 acrea block in Clarkville with her partner Russell
Past
Soeur - “French for sisters” was established in 1989 in Christchurch. Sisters, Maria and Ann developed the business from a small beginning with one shop into where it is today - two successful shops and a group of 35 agents throughout New Zealand from Keri Keri to Invercargill. Anns daughter Jodi has been an important part of the design team and Managers the Christchurch shop as well.
Soeur is a unique family business based with Head office in Christchurch but selling to you throughout New Zealand. We have an exciting concept shop in St Albans Street in Merivale Christchurch selling clothing, art and other unique products, and another shop in Martinbourgh where you will enjoy an experience that is special to us. We have 30 agents throughout New Zealand seling by way of home functions.
Present
Soeur Design is currently developing it's manufacturing business in Bali, Indonesia. The Balinese are proficient in beading and leather in particular and this season at Soeur Design see the introduction of several beaded dresses and leather sandals. We are presently working on a leather jacket and shoes for our Winter 2010 collection.

Future
We are also currently looking for an agent in the New Plymouth area aged between 30 - 45 years of age who has eye for fashion and is interested in joining our exciting network of agents throughout New Zealand. Soeur Design is also constantly sourcing more art from around New Zealand and overseas and we'll be showcasing some unique pieces of Indonesian art in the upcoming months.
